Meet Bob's Girlfriend

Image
*Meet Bob's Girlfriend*     Say 'hi', Bob's Girlfriend     She joined the team in 2016 or 2017. She was originally hired to play a cemetery escapee. Which basically means, she got thrown on top of the hedge and I called it a night.      This was good because she didn't have the same level of articulation or realism that Bob does. But she did do her job.  *Fast Forward to 2020* Look who got promoted!     As I decided to expand, I began plotting my new attractions and sections. Bob's girlfriend was able to slide, I mean, get dumped into a new position, which even comes with a makeover. She is scheduled for a hair appointment soon and is already very excited about being able to show off her new look once October kicks into high gear.      So don't miss a minute of the action as this scene unfolds

31 Days of Halloween

Image
Are y'all ready for Halloween!!!     I will be doing a 31 Days of Halloween... event, of sorts, if you will. Since this is new and I'm new to the virtual Halloween bashes, this means that it's a time for me to stand up and share some things about me. So during October, I will be sharing favorite things and even questioning what I would, or wouldn't do. Scandalous, right. I know, that's what I said! So, there will be multiple parts to each day that will consist of me sharing a little about me, my movie choice for the night, and then maybe whatever project I'm working on or art stuff or just fun stuff. It's gonna be EPIC! So, don't miss out, make sure you come back and play along.

The Sticky Part

When you hear about Halloween, you think of witches, brooms, black cats, and creepy crawlies. Let's visit one of the favored creepy crawlies. *Spider and Spider Webs*           One thing I have both loved and hated in all of the previous years is the spider decor. As a photographer, spiders are a natural subject. Now as much as I love looking at spiders, I am much happier not having them on me. Or better yet, their web. I am actually more freaked out about the web touching me than the spider. I know, weird, right? I mean, come on, look at this web!     So, real or fake? Well, this one is actually real. This was on my hedge and was covered with the dew from an extremely heavy Silent Hill level fog. And this is what we present as the 99¢ spiderwebbing look. This boils down to one of the most web option. Now, wanna see what that 99¢ spiderweb package looks like.... Um, yea, no that's not the right one. You'd probably be bet...

The First Big Draw

L et's take a little stroll down memory lane, shall we? 2014     The debut year of what was, at the time, just a regular house  decorating for Halloween. I knew I wanted something different from every other house. Just one stand out piece. And then my brain was graced with the idea to Amityville my picture window. I mixed up a batch of fake blood and then took to making a line across the top of my window. Since this was outside, I wanted something natural. I didn't want anything potentially toxic to affect the insect population. I am also a photographer, so I like the little neighborhood insects that frequent my flower patches. My mixture is powdered sugar with food coloring, thinned with water. Basic and all natural. Once it dries, it thickens and congeals, so aside from drawing a few more bees to my corner it will withstand the weather and still be easily cleaned after Halloween. Unfortunately, I didn't really take photos the first year....

The Mascot

Image
Meet Bob      I never planned to end up with a mascot, it just kinda happened. One of the first things I bought was a skeleton. His name was Bob, well, he just looks like a Bob. *Say 'hi' Bob*     He hangs by a noose at the entry to the front door. He has stayed in this exact location every year since the beginning in 2014.      So, a little about Bob. He's five feet tall and prefers to be called 'skin and bones' even though he does not have skin... Anyhoo, he doesn't ask for much and he always does his job. A couple of years into his employment, he finally had a request. He wanted a girlfriend. We'll get more into her later. The Promotion     Because Bob was such a good employee, I decided that for this new upgraded season, he deserved a promotion. Just not a raise. I mean, come on, what would he spend it on. Not like he's rocking any clothes. Bob is a bit of a nudist it would seem. Maybe a raise upward if the sisal rope that serv...

Welcome to The Haunt

Welcome to A Bohemian Haunt.     A little bit about me...      My name is Ana and I am a bit of a wild child. I love Halloween and all things spooky. I moved from the peninsula of Virginia to Western Pennsylvania in April of 2014. In August, I lost my dad. In what was one of the worst times in my life, I decided the only way to stay sane was to stay active and look for the joy in life again. So, I began cooking and I started to realize that I was coming into the season of holidays every single month. Including my mom's birthday, which was only a few days after the accident; and my own birthday in mid Sept.     My favorite holiday, Halloween, was rapidly approaching. I thought it would help the healing process to decorate a little bit. I felt a release in the action of preparing for a holiday that was not only a favorite but also, in my mind, symbolic of the time that spirits and loved ones could return and mingle with the living. It began to tak...
